Referendum: MLA Response – Gordon Hogg

Mr. Hogg submitted these comments on January 27.

Gordon Hogg, Liberal MLA for Surrey-White Rock:

.

How will you advise your constituents to vote on the Transportation & Transit Referendum?

I will advise my constituents that I support the referendum and my reasons include:

  • The importance of planning for our region’s future with a vision focused on the values important to a diverse, multicultural world-class community.
  • A vision that recognizes and enhances our current attributes.
  • The value of upgrading the overall transportation connectivity to the region
  • The positive  social, cultural, environmental  and economic impacts in a geographically sensitive and confined area.

.

What is the priority in the Mayors’ package (if any) for your riding?

Specifically, the extension of the 96 B line to White Rock Centre, more night-bus service and more HandyDART will all improve the livability, access and connectivity of South Surrey-White Rock and the Metro region.

.

How do you plan to participate in the referendum campaign?

I will include these comments in my communications- speeches, advertising and mail outs.

       .

Any other comments?

I am a frequent user of public transit and these comments are also  informed by that perspective.
