DAYS TO THE START OF VOTING: 44

Is it just me, or do I sense that a cone of silence has been dropped over members of the ruling party?
Is Jordan Sturdy MLA for West Vancouver-Sea to Sky on the list?…He represents West Vancouver and Lions Bay-both somewhat served by Translink….
In response to a tweet two weeks ago Jane Thornthwaite said she would vote “yes.”
Naomi Yamamoto never responded – likely too busy visiting craft breweries and farmers’ markets.
I expect the Liberal strategy is to avoid saying anything, then claim the credit if the “Yes” side wins, or blame TransLink and the Mayors if the “No” side succeeds.
Of course, if the Clark government actually endorsed the “Yes” side they would immediately be asked why they didn’t just raise the tax in the first place.
I find it odd that no one seems to be making issue of the juxtaposition of the $200 million tax cut for those who earn more that $150k, and the proposed rise in the PST rate for the broader public — to raise, what, $200 million, for transit improvements? So yet again the peasants must pay for the gentry’s additional privileges.
