Ms. Reimer sent in her submission on January 23.
Linda Reimer, Liberal MLA for Port Moody-Coquitlam:
.
How will you advise your constituents to vote on the Transportation & Transit Referendum?
I will be advising those I speak with to support the Transportation and Transit Plebiscite.
What is the priority in the Mayors package (if any) for your riding?
Currently, in my riding, the Evergreen Line is being built-a Provincial government project. It will be a wonderful addition not only for my constituents, but for the region as a whole. I support anything that improves the movement of people and goods within our region, even if those items in the Mayors package are not in my constituency.
How do you plan to participate in the referendum campaign?
I will encourage everyone I speak with, to support the Plebiscite.
Any other comments?
I want to express my appreciation and gratitude to the Mayors Council-past and present- for all their hard work in creating the Plan and the question for the upcoming Plebiscite and also for their regional vision that extends beyond their own individual municipalities. I believe their vision for alleviating congestion and for improving transportation is something that people can get behind. And we are ensuring that they have their say.
Transit expansion is vital to our economic development and it will be important as we move along the next 30 years, that we have a system able to accommodate the additional million people expected to be moving to our area.
” the Evergreen Line is being built – a Provincial government project.”
What? Local residents and municipalities and nothing to do with it? Or TransLink?
