Price Tags is asking every MLA in Metro Vancouver questions about the referendum.

Kathy Corrigan, NDP MLA for Burnaby-Deer Lake
.
How will you advise your constituents to vote on the Transportation & Transit Referendum?
I will be encouraging my constituents to vote yes in the plebiscite.
.
What is the priority in the Mayors package (if any) for your riding?
Burnaby is a transportation corridor due to its geographic position in the Lower Mainland. Any major infrastructure decision in the surrounding region directly effects my constituents by changing the way people move to, from, and through Burnaby-Deer Lake. Investing in rapid transit throughout the region would alleviate vehicle congestion, and improvements to bus service will provide my constituents with more options.
.
How do you plan to participate in the referendum campaign?
I have been reaching out to members of my community to encourage a yes vote, and will continue to do so.
.
Any other comments?
I think it is unfortunate that the Liberal government has abandoned its responsibility to the residents of Metro Vancouver by imposing this referendum in the first place. Per-capita transit service has declined for five years as this government has continually ignored this crucial issue, and the region suffers because of it. Additionally, Translink is an unaccountable and undemocratic organization. That being said, we simply cannot wait any longer to invest in our public transportation system.
