Definitely an important subject – and land-use-transport integration is the basis for regional strategies going back to the 1950s. But honestly, none of this counts if the referendum fails (and/or the ALR is dismantled). But other than a qualifying reference, I doubt the funding referendum will be the focus of attention – even though at this point it’s the only thing that counts. You don’t get land-use integration if there is no transit. Otherwise: Motordom.
There’s an astonishing vacuum on this issue, and a near-complete absence of coverage in the media, mainstream or otherwise. And only 453 days to go.
