Parks and open space have become a vital element of community infrastructure – particularly during the pandemic as people have turned to parks and green spaces for physical and mental health benefits.
Join the Maryland Department of Planning and the Smart Growth Networkas panelists from the National Park and Recreation Association, Urban Land Institute, and community-based organizations explore the role that parks can play in COVID relief and recovery.
The panelists will discuss what communities can do to improve access to parks; how community-based organizations can advocate successfully for parks and work with agencies to do so; and the opportunities cross-sector partnerships can provide to break down barriers through parks and transform communities.
