GIFs and other Goodies: Archival treasure chests of Vancouver

By way of Miss604, three things I didn’t know:

1) There are these extraordinarily cool GIFs that sequence a series of Leonard Frank photos, documenting the construction of some of our most important historic buildings.  No. 1 – The Marine Building:

2) She found them on Vancouver Rising – a tumblr site that documents the relatively recent history of our city in GIFs taken from old colour photos and films.  Like this one of the skyline in 1984:

3) Vancouver Rising is basically using .mp4s downloaded from the City of Vancouver Archives online database.
