This shot was taken by Chris Kay in very early February, just after the road was closed:
.
It was an indication that locals would start to adopt the street as an extension of the Seaside Greenway – and then others would ‘discover’ it, so long as there were clear connections east and west. That’s the stage we’re entering now.
You can find more of Chris’s comments on the above here. And ongoing documentation on the rebuilding of PGR on his blog, Reflecting Vancouver, here.
And while you’re at, take a read of Chris’s post on “Whither Vancouverism,” here. Clearly an informed analysis with a challenging conclusion.

And once again, no cyclists. Is there a partiuclar phase of the moon that brings them out that just isn’t able to be captured on film?
Cyclists are on Point Grey Road constantly; I have submitted a photograph to Gordon with cyclists to post here. I am sure others have done the same. I have many photographs of Point Grey Road with many cyclists. There is no shortage of cyclists.
There is also no shortage of trolls, who should never be fed.
You are right, Ken.
