Ohrn Image: Point Grey Road – 2

Once again, the darn engineering Department is moving briskly to construct bike-related public works.  So annoying.

From Ken Ohrn: This photo looks northwest-ish from Point Grey Road, very near to where it ends at Jericho Beach, west of Alma. It looks like there is a ramp (or exit) being built to get people on bikes back on to the existing Seaside path at Jericho Beach. I also rode eastward along Point Grey Road from here to MacDonald, and the calm and peaceful atmosphere was almost unsettling in its unexpectedness.

Bring me more!

  1. I’ve always found it impressive how quickly the city engineers get to work once political dust settles. They’ve already marked off the curb changes at York and Stephens, and I imagine the separated bike lane opposite on Cornwall will be installed very soon.

  2. And how different from New York City where they created their first civilized streets using nothing more than paint and oil drums – and could have changed it all back again in a trice if it hadn’t worked.

Which, of course, did NOT happen.
