Something I noticed when living in Vancouver was that the car ads all had cars driving in and around familiar west-coast locales. When I moved to the GTA, the car ads had the cars driving around Toronto or other east-coast looking places. It wouldn’t surprise me if the advertisements are purposely filmed in the location of the target market. Another thing I noticed were the ads in Vancouver were for smaller cars vs the ads in Toronto are for larger cars, SUVs, and pickup trucks. This is all anecdotal and may not be true at all, just my observations.
Also, is it just me or does that car seem to be driving in the wrong direction on the Stanley Park loop?
I think it has less to do with the urban landscape and more to do with the ability to shoot the commercials non-union here…
Also in the video is the Alex Fraser bridge.
Oh! It’s a reverse image. That’s why I was so confused.
