This is 40: Dunsmuir Viaduct North

The second in a short series of panoramic retrospectives from Vancouver’s youth, courtesy of ‘Changing Vancouver’ blog co-author Andy Coupland.
As he noted, there likely won’t be a fourth photo for this retrospective, although perhaps the perspective from the new bike/ped bridge will work…

  1. I really enjoy these photos. The first photo was taken a year before I was born and it is always fascinating to see what once was. Look at the CBC building and the sun tower. They used to really stick out.
    I also love them for the palpable sense of things getting better.
    The city just looks so much better in the latest picture. Cleaner air, homes instead of parking lots, a brand new school, parks and trees, bike lanes and rapid transit. What a difference! I look forward to seeing the same photo taken in another 10 years, though it may have to be taken by a drone!
