Jobs Jar – and long-distance thanks

This comes by way of Linda Ginenthal in Portland. Linda is (soon to be was) Programs Manager in the Active Transportation & Safety Division of Portland’s Bureau of Transportation.

It is with great excitement that I let you know that I am retiring after 23+ years working with PBOT. My planned retirement date is in April/May. The job announcement is now posted as Program Manager for the Active Transportation and Safety Division.

I worked with Linda when, a long time ago, I started giving a yearly lecture on transportation and land-use for Portland’s much-praised PSU Traffic and Transportation class.  How long ago was that?  I remember Linda telling me about this nifty new program called PowerPoint, and how I should digitize my slides and scrap the Kodak carousels.
But she’s done so much more:
Linda
A model of the public servant who works to make a city better – and who in helping shape Portland has helped shape Vancouver.  (And, I would like to think, vice-versa.)
Our thanks to you, Linda, for an outstanding career.
