In a comment below, Scot recommended a most amazing app:
This is the app I use on my phone:
I love it. It shows Bus, Skytrain, WCX, Seabus, Aqua Ferry and shows car share in Vancouver in addition to providing info for cities all around the world. It’s developed by a team of people from Montreal.
I love it too. After downloading the app, I instantaneously got all my local routes and buses noted in real time, with Car2Go locations also on the map. My life is better!
.

Been using it for a few years now–the addition of car2go was great.
Holy crap! This app is amazing. It has everything. And, the UI is awesome. It’s way better than the translink website/app. Just being able to pan around the map is incredible.
Awesome! Glad you like it Gord. There are so many features so make sure you play around with it and click all the icons. You can move the location dot on the map with your finger to see routes in that area too. Make sure you swipe both left and right on the bus routes displaced to switch route direction.
Unfortunately this app loses all of its practicality when used offline. So you’ll need data or be near wifi to make any use of it. Maps can’t be pre-loaded and bus stops do not show while offline.
Take a screen shot, and save to images. Thats what I do with my iPhone
That’s what I already do. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great looking app. I just wanted to point out that it degrades poorly while offline.
Yeah I hear ya. I actually just sent them an email asking if they can look into this.
We just downloaded it. Haven’t played with its feature set at all, yet. But it’s perhaps the cleanest app user interface I’ve seen– an object lesson in making complex programs immediately accessible. Those ancients among us may remember the “Hello” welcome screen and Graphical User Interface on the first Macs, and how they compared to the Command Line you typed into on the PC. I expect to replace several other apps on our phones. Thank you, Scot.
