Certainly the most cynical insight into a political class for whom winning and losing is the only game that counts, not the long-term good of the region. Unfortunately he doesn’t write what the real consequences of their machinations will be, and what other intents they may have for this place.
The losers will not read Martyn Brown. They’ll just huddle in denial, scorn the voters as they play with their marbles at home.
Long live the cynics, like Brown; we need more of them, and fewer of the “yes”-men who see the world through rose-coloured glasses.
