From the Daily Scot:
The removal of the Central Freeway in San Francisco’s Hayes Valley neighbourhood has gifted the city with new found urban space. In addition to the pop-up retail containers on the corner of Hayes and Octavia Streets there is an outdoor gym of sorts, a series of obstacle courses and fitness challenges simply painted on the asphalt.

.
“The Basic Training Pop-Up Fitness Hub” as it’s known, includes a workout wall, jumping station and open space for a range of activities all paid for through a fundraising campaign. There is even an on-site equipment storage locker.

.
“You see a parking lot. We see a place where people from all walks of life can gather, move, and play with friends.”
