One way to inspire the heaviest taxed Translink North Shore residents to vote yes despite the already existing 4 Seabuses but vote yes and you’ll get 3-do you remember the terminals had to be rebuilt at great cost to accomodate the improperly designed new seabuses?, the twenty minute bus service which I have to drive to to use, the unsubsidized 257 West Van Blue Bus service to BC Ferries that benefits few of the residents, and one wonders where are the tree huggers who opposed a new four lane Lions Gate Bridge in the 90’s (whose shitshow is that?) rather than a new deck on a 1938 three lane one as some trees were to be cut, are now being cut to provide a cycling and pedestrian expanded pathway with clearcutting to follow. Yet despite that I am voting yes..but we get nothing compared to Vancouver or Surrey..hmm. Wonder why the mayor says vote no?
We also have less population growth and transit demand than Vancouver or Surrey. If we were to get more transit under the Mayors Plan it would probably be unfair to the municipalities that have a higher population and are growing much faster than the North Shore.
Also better transit in Vancouver and Surrey benefits the North Shore. Many people commute to the North Shore from across Metro Vancouver.
