As a dull and sleepy civic campaign enters its last nine days, this occurs.
Former NPA Prez endorses Vision – in The Straight and The Sun.
Here’s the text of an open letter from ex-NPA Prez Michael Davis. Lots of juicy quotes.

UPDATE: What a day!  From Business in Vancouver:

Mayor Gregor Robertson and incumbent Vision Vancouver councillor Geoff Meggs have filed a defamation suit in BC Supreme Court against mayoral candidate Kirk LaPointe and his slate, the Non-Partisan Association.
In the claim, filed November 6, Robertson and Meggs allege LaPointe and the NPA defamed Robertson and Meggs when LaPointe characterized donations that Vision Vancouver received from unionized city workers as corruption and vote-buying.

  1. Ex-NPA Prez Michael Davis’ juiciest quote: “The NPA has moved further and further to the right, a monochromatic party of angry people afraid of losing what they have.”
It’s a long way from the “Big Tent”, and is now starting to look like a gated Garden Party Gazebo.
Mr. Davis is partner and managing director of a PR firm called Reputations. He has also worked as the communications director for the NPA.

  2. “Mayor Gregor Robertson and incumbent Vision Vancouver councillor Geoff Meggs have filed a defamation suit in BC Supreme Court against mayoral candidate Kirk LaPointe and his slate, the Non-Partisan Association”: Finally, a call for accountability. I’ve been waiting and waiting for this.
