Transportation Minister Stone has published a discussion guide to this plan and calls for public input to the final product “BC On the Move”. Public input will commence Oct 14 here.
I am fascinated that the words “cycling network” appear in the PR letter introducing the plan, and page 2 of the “Discussion Guide” reads: ” . . . provide infrastructure to meet the growing desire to travel by transit, walking or cycling. ”
Page 8 (6) of the guide speaks glowing phrases about the benefits to all of more people of bikes and on foot. Page 18 (16) speaks of changing travel choices in urban areas, favouring walking, cycling and transit.
The schedule calls for this plan to be released in early 2015. The plan’s relationship to the transit referendum is not clear.

It’s utterly asinine and just reinforces the utter lack of leadership from this government.
Come comment on our 10 year vision for transportation in BC! But don’t talk about ferries or tolls…and transit is out too. But other than that, it’s fair game!
This whole referendum is a joke. I wish the Libs would just call a spade a spade and tell Metro Vancouver to get bent.
Here’s a loud voice weighing in on the Plan and the referendum — Gary Mason, writing in the Globe and Mail:
