The Sun backgrounds the initiative here, along with a promo being done by Big Smoke, a Vancouver media company, that has been pairing the pianos with local indie bands for a music video series on YouTube.

There also happened to be a piano plunked down at Davie and Bute that led to one of my best moments of pride weekend… Thursday night at 02:30 after the bar we stumbled upon it and started playing a few notes… another guy came up and offered to play, more people joined, one guy lay on top of the piano Michelle Pfeiffer-style … suddenly there were a whole bunch of people spontaneously enjoying this late-night recital, and I went home feeling so happy and excited for the weekend.
