The last time we checked in on the widening of sidewalks of Castro Street in San Francisco – June 5-10 – they looked like this:

Almost there – but oddly, the bus shelters are not in flaming pink.
At least there’s room for a good hug:

Or are they assessing whether to make a mid-block crossing? It will be interesting to see how pedestrian patterns change on these very long blocks.
















A bit strange that they didn’t move the lampposts to the curb – as they are now obstacles in the middle of the sidewalk.
