Occasionally when I’m on a bus or sharing a ride, I’ll just snap some shots of the passing scenery, especially when on a route undergoing redevelopment. And what better example than Cambie Street – likely to be rebuilt from 12th to Marine in a decade.
So while these images aren’t great photography, they do capture a moment in time – July 14, 2014, to be specific – that will be useful to compare to the ‘after’ shots.

Do you see what’s missing from all those shots? Trolley wires!

Thank you, Gordon, for being among the minority of GVTA board members who voted back then to force Translink to honour it’s agreement and reinstall overhead wires. It’s unfortunate the majority of the board didn’t agree with our arguments.
interesting! I didn’t know that
And I’m embarrassed for not reading my own website before posting, I knew there was an NPA councillor who supported trolleys on Cambie, I had forgotten over the last decade Gordon was no longer on the board at that point. Sigh, that’s what happens when I cut and paste, go from memory, and don’t fact check first….
