Janette Sadik-Khan served as the Commissioner of the New York City Department of Transportation from 2007-13. In that time she achieved what will in retrospect (if not already) be seen as revolutionary change in transportation and urban design – notably the transformation of Times Square with the closure of Broadway to traffic.
If it could succeed in New York, it could happen anywhere.
