Choose one: (a) dikes, (b) highways and tunnels, (c) food

Because, chances are, thems the choices.

An interesting piece by Randy Shore in, of all places, today’s Business section of The Sun: B.C. agricultural regions issue preliminary blueprints for dealing with climate  change.

“Now that we have identified the reality of climate change and what we are  facing, we can start to figure out how to adapt,”  said Greg Norton, vice-chairman of the B.C. Agriculture Council’s environmental  protection committee. …

Farmland in Delta is likely to face groundwater salinity and increased risk of  flooding that may require improvements to the region’s system of dikes, which  will cost billions of dollars.

The regional adaptation plan outlines strategies  for coping with the expense and leveraging non-traditional sources of funding  for infrastructure.

I look forward to learning more about “non-traditional sources of funding for infrastructure”
