  1. Very entertaining!
    All the big visible changes took place where land, much of it previously industrial, was rezoned for high density. Main Street, Joyce, Metrotown, Edmonds, and the NW waterfront are the most striking examples in the video. Yaletown / International Village is the most significant one not captured by this video.
    Much of east Vancouver has not changed much from the perspective of the SkyTrain front window. Light industrial needs to exist to provide employment and the so-called single family areas (many of which already consist of two or more families per house) are highly resistant to being razed to make way for higher density. That’s not a bad thing. All cities need a mix of housing types and transit needs to serve the existing population in addition to attracting new development. Given that rush hour trains inbound at 29th Avenue are full, it would be hard for the system to accommodate any more users from east Vancouver anyway.

    This video is the best argument for above-ground rapid transit and against underground.
    Sitting in an underground tube is not my idea of good transportation.
