TL Student Public Consultation Assistant – FTT (Approx. 4 Months) – 20130171
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager, Public Consultation, the Student Public Consultation Assistant assists in the development and implementation of TransLink’s public consultation activities. Attends community events on behalf of TransLink and works directly with the public to provide information and receive input on TransLink activities, policies, programs etc.
Writes reports and presentations and updates public consultation database. Works under the direction of the Senior Stakeholder Relations Advisor and Community Relations Coordinator, to assist with public consultation and community event planning and delivery. 
Assists the Manager, Public Consultation with research support in the design and delivery of public consultation programs.

Qualifications
Education
Requires completion of a minimum of two (2) years post-secondary education in an undergraduate degree program in a discipline related to communications, planning, geography, political science, environmental studies.  Must possess a Valid Class 5 or equivalent BC Drivers License.
Experience
Requires up to 3 months previous experience in the development of public consultation programs together with an ability to communicate effectively with customer focus groups and a further period of up 1 month on the job to become familiar with TransLink’s transportation policies.
Other Information
Recruitment Process:  An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process.  A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions.
Please note: effective May 2013, TransLink MetroTown Tower II offices will be relocating to their new Sapperton/New Westminster location.
Work Schedule
37.5 hours per week.
Some evenings and weekend work required
