Sustainable Transportation Workshop with Eric Doherty

Are you interested in learning how to successfully advocate for public transit in your region? Then come out to Sustainable SFU’s and Get OnBoard’s Sustainable Transportation Workshop:

Thursday, January 31st 11:30 to 1:00

Saywell Hall Room 10061, SFU Burnaby

Eric Doherty, Registered Professional Planner with Ecopath Planning, will be leading the workshop introducing SFU students to the basics of transit advocacy. The workshop will include:

–     The basics transit advocates need to know to effectively participate as part of a movement for improved transit

–     Competing claims about transit technologies and other factors including transit fares

–     Examples from cities that have quickly gone from gridlock to transit Mecca

–     Discussion of the current transit funding and planning context in Metro Vancouver

The workshop is free to attend and refreshments will be provided. Email getonboard@sustainablesfu.org for more information.
