Vancouver Pause: Georgia and Granville

There are those few moments when, as pedestrians, we wait for a light to change: not at rest, not in motion, just at pause.  Those at the curb who come together for that moment are not self-selected, not quite random – an assembly of Vancouverites that won’t happen again but shows who we are at the moment.

I took these images while waiting at the curb, part of that moment of pause.  Intersections are on Granville  at Georgia and at Dunsmuir, an afternoon on January 19, 2012.  I didn’t do anything with them then, and when I came across them today, it seemed right for a pre-Christmas weekend.

See for yourself; maybe see yourself.

  1. In four of the five picturs people are talking on their cell phones. The reality of the distracted pedestrians or o put it another way evidence of Vancouverites ability to multi task.
