Rogues Gallery

Another piece of the Canada Line Public Art Program just appeared at Granville and Robson, on the side of the emergency-exit stairwell that would otherwise present a blank face to the street.  Rogues Gallery instead presents 16 faces from our past:

.

.

Cam Andrews and Jessica Bushey mounted police mug shots from 1900 to reveal “the socioeconomic climate of the Port of Vancouver at the turn of the century”  … people from all over the world, arrested for some rather particular crimes: “John Brown, Age 16 … for stealing a quantity of champagne from the Vancouver Club.”

.

.

To say the least, fascinating.
