It’s Pride Weekend in Vancouver – and appropriately the West End is the centre of activity. And not just for gays. It’s Vancouver at its most diverse.
So here, in the spirit of the moment, is Neil Patrick Harris’s opening number to the Tony Awards. After a few viewings to pick up all the lyrics, you’ll likely agree that it’s one of the sharpest and cleverest send-ups ever mounted for a mainstream awards show. It’s so entertaining, you don’t realize how subversive it is.
