Buzzer goes blog

The Buzzer – Translink’s little newsletter (and a unique feature of this region’s transit system) – has gone online:

Editor Jhenifer Pabillano says the format “lets us open up a two-way conversation with you, our customers. Comments are built into every blog…”

Well, they asked for it.

  1. I’m not sure Jhenifer will be happy to hear what I have to say about TransLink’s suggestion that “being a pioneer in Bus Rapid Transit” and “having the world’s largest automated light rail system” (The Buzzer, Sept. 26) is somehow a great and venerable thing. Like 49.5 km of ALRT is something to be proud about when nobody else is building it. Representatives of TransLink should be visiting Australia, Brazil, Denmark, Finland, (France,) Germany, Japan, and the US, to name a few. Then when they discover LRT, avoid suggesting they found it first. But I won’t be that snarky.

Aside from that I look forward to reading the blog.

  2. Um, I just sent Jhenifer a really long email providing feedback (and alerting her about the fact that she will, indeed, receive snarky comments). It’s the nature of the beast – Web 2.0

The truth is, it’s a government blog. They’ll have to take the good with the bad.
