About The Studio

The Urbanarium Studio is an urban design workshop place hosted by a collective of planners, designers and architects. This passionate cohort convenes groups and facilitates graphic discourse on city-making challenges through charrette-style live events. Participants watch their ideas come to life LIVE in a fun, interactive setting that aims to inform and entertain through produced sessions that bring in guest speakers, musical performances, and surprises. 2020-2022 Studio sessions include: The Future of Work and the Future of Housing (UBC Master of Urban Design Alumni), Redesign Public Space (Vancouver Design Week and Vancouver Public Space Network), Black Youth Take on the Fourth Place (Ethọ́s Lab), False Creek Resilience and Sea-level Rise (Arts Umbrella Summer Architecture Intensive 2020), Seniors Housing: Building Ecologies (Arts Umbrella Summer Architecture Intensive 2022), Young Planners Assemble: Draw Your City! (City of Vancouver, Vancouver Plan) and more. You can find outputs from the sessions on our instagram page.
