Meanwhile, major events like heat domes, wind storms, and a pandemic continues to change Stanley Park by the day, shining new light on some key questions.

With over 240 parks, 24 community centres, destination gardens, 3 championship golf courses, the world’s longest continuous seawall, kilometres of beach and the world class Stanley Park (404 hectares / 1,000 acres).
Donnie is committed to delivering on the Board directive to decolonize the Parks and Recreation system in Vancouver. Further, they are leading the efforts to determine how to co-manage parks with the local Nations (Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh). With a commitment to equity and building resilient communities, Donnie has used their community development skills to meaningfully engage community in service delivery and build long lasting collaborative relationships.
Donnie was recently named as one of Vancouver’s Power 50 for their work with Canada’s largest park encampment and efforts to move over 280 folks indoors from Strathcona Park with compassion and care.
Emily Dunlop
Senior Planner and Landscape Architect, Vancouver’s Board of Parks and Recreation.
Emily has 18 years of experience in planning, landscape architecture, urban design and active transportation projects.
Emily leads the Stanley Park Comprehensive Plan working with Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. Using her knowledge of Stanley Park and Sunset Beach Parks. Emily took on the role of Senior Planner for the temporary bike lane projects in both 2020 and in 2021 in response to COVID.
