  1. Just kkep in mind that the skytrain is a hugely expensive type of infrastructure to operate. Even though it has no onboard drivers, we learned during the recent strike that it takes 900 workers to oprate it and maintain it.

    And most of those workers must keep on working even if the trains are empty.

    This should be kept in mind as we consider skytrain expansions. Buses and lrts cost a fraction to operate and maintain.

  2. If current passenger loads were the norm, we’d never have built Skytrain. Yeah, it’s more expensive to operate, but it moves a heckuva lot more people and at those kinds of high volumes it’s cheaper than buses and LRTs.
