All the gyms are closed.  And, given their particularly efficient way of spreading a virus, they’re likely to be for some time.   Many, maybe most, won’t survive.

The Park Board has closed down most of the purpose-built places to exercise: community centres, weight rooms, swimming pools, tennis courts, golf courses, even the swings and exercise bars in sand lots:

But this is Vancouver.  We’re gonna do what Vancouverites do.

As I write this, a neighbour is below my window, playing tennis with a concrete wall in an asphalt parking lot.

There’s an actual tennis court across the street.  But the Park Board has closed it off because, you know, virus.
