A Christmas Tradition

Lately, the Lions Club has been organizing Christmas tree recycling stations.  A great service, all for the price of a donation, which the Lions Club will send on to charity.

A great deal.

This one is at Kits Beach Park.

  1. Well this photograph showing the LIONS CLUB setting up their Christmas tree lot also shows that now cyclists must go on a detour to resume their route. I thought that would be Ken’s story line but instead, he commended the LC for selling the trees for charity! I hope that detour wasn’t too strenuous for the cyclists.

Hi Rosalind: to be clear, the Lions club is getting the trees chipped for, presumably, compost. The LC does this for donations, which they pass on to charities.

It’s kind of you to be worried about people riding bikes, but really the detour was tiny and of no consequence.

      1. Detours are not a problem if they’re not too far out from the usual path and there is good signage. It’s much better than being asked to dismount.

        1. Good point, that detours for cyclists/motorists have a useful purpose when well-marked, not too far off the regular route and safe.
