We asked PT readers to take a look at the overwhelming number of statistical goodies in the Housing Vancouver Data Book, detailed here, and personally select something that surprises them. Owen is shocked by this:
Shocked to see only 1% of rental stock is 3 or more bed homes. No wonders there are lots of stories of families leaving.

Key Observations:
Approximately 17% of the total purpose-built rental stock in Vancouver consists of family-sized units (16% are 2-bedroom and 1% are 3-bedroom units).
The City’s market rental tracking system shows that from 2010-2016, all new market rental developments provided approximately 26% family units with 3% of the units having 3-bedrooms.
New rental projects approved from 2017-2018 are providing approximately 42% family-sized units with 10%of the units having 3-bedrooms.
