Toronto Transit Commission's New Five Year Plan

corporateplantitlepage
Via Toronto writer Ben Spurr, here  is the shiny new video describing the Toronto Transit Commission’s (TTC)  new Corporate Plan 2018-2022.  Building on their previous five-year plan, the TTC is planning services for a downtown core that is becoming increasingly dense, with tens of thousands more  commuters  traveling to Toronto daily from the region.
In the next 25 years Toronto will have one million more people. It will also  have three times the number of days with extreme heat,  and is expecting  flooding  to be more common. For sustainability choosing public transit, cycling and walking is being championed.  In 2017 TTC ridership “flatlined”, while may North American cities saw their ridership decline. TTC perceives this is happening due to ride share services such as Uber and Lyft which provide “customers with more mobility options, greater control and a more seamless experience.”
Even in the promotional video timeliness is mentioned as being one of the most important factors for Toronto transit users.  TTC intends to be more timely and efficient by strengthening their employee responsibilities and communication, growing the transit network with partners, and continuing modernization.
You can take a look at the plan here.
