Vancouver may be a city of green glass (it’s called Solexia; very Low E, very ’90s). But Calgary clearly went through a blue period in its corporate core.

Leaving faddishness aside, anyone have an explanation?

I suspect it is the more intense sunshine in Alberta. Far drier air thus intense sunshine.
Calgary has the most sunshine of any Canadian large city, with 300+ annual sunny days !
Did you know that the Bow Tower was the first, and thus far only building downtown Calgary that was not square or rectangle ?
Good city for 2nd Amazon HQ too, btw, due to many empty towers right now, lower taxes, international airport close by and very educated workforce. Bike lanes too downtown.
