Georgie nominated and Ovation awarded Smallworks is looking for a lead designer at www.smallworks.ca The successful applicant will work in a customer focused, dynamic work environment, which manages small-scale but complex residential design-build projects in Vancouver.
The expectation-a successful candidate is to have the ability to carry the normal work load of a designer while providing support in improving building system and design, and be a knowledge resource for the design team. The lead designer works alongside two colleagues, each with their own set of clients. On average, the company takes on two new design and two build projects per month.
The role of our designer is to be the principle point of contact for an individual cohort of projects. Each designer is responsible to lead their clients through the process of personalizing Smallworks Homes. The design is responsible for the production of permits, ID and construction drawing sets. The design team has the support of an In-house production management team to help create spec packages. Our designers are expected to maintain an advisory role throughout the construction process.
The Lead Designer is responsible for the team’s design integrity and performance targets, in addition to for their designer responsibilities.
