City of Vancouver has published this summary report on the recent Arbutus Greenway consultations. Peoples’ ideas and hopes heard via around 4,000 public interactions.
Consider the increasing likelihood of a subway terminus station at — guess where — Arbutus and Broadway. Imagine the delightful synergies available from integrating the Arbutus Corridor, the subway station and a grade-separated crossing of Broadway at Arbutus for people on foot and people on bikes.

New to me was the City’s inherent contractual obligation for streetcar that is part of their purchase agreement with CP Rail.
Otherwise, hear (and see) what the people have said (PDF stuff HERE):

When I responded online I stressed the importance of having a physically separated bike lane on the Granville bridge which would allow for a connection to the arbutus greenway without having to go up and down as one crosses false creek.
When I lived in Kits, on 8th Ave., I used the Granville Bridge all the time for the same reason you suggested; to keep my elevation. Having a physically separated facility on the bridge would make that bridge a lot more comfortable. There has been talk about doing that for years.
When I was riding on the greenway a few days ago near Broadway, someone asked if I knew how far the pavement went and I said it was paved all the way to beyod Marine Drive. She shared that at first she was against the paving of the greenway but that she had changed her mind and is now looking forward to cycling its entire length.
Change is difficult, but if the project is done right, people will come around.
Greenway? It should be the Arbutus Blackway with the amount of tarmac they’ve rolled down over everything. I had the misfortune of going by where it begins just west of the old Fraser Arms in Marpole, it looks like a new roadway.
Wait for the planted dividers and finishing touches. Pretty nice for a temporary path. Heading out on it again today.
