Ohrn Image — New Brighton Park

Brighton is one of the most beautiful parks in the world; the locus of turn of the century Vancouver society. Its soundscape is superior to Kits which is assaulted by motordom. Kits pool is better for size, but its orientation is wrong. It’s blinding swimming west in the evening. Outdoor pools should be north-south.
The playset at Brighton is not worthy of the location.
The worst things about Brighton are smokers and off-leash dogs. There are three dogs running loose just in the photo above. Why don’t they stick to their designated area? It makes for an unpleasant experience to those who are afraid of dogs, or have had bad experiences. And god help you if you say something to them. Park rangers do show up here occasionally, but they don’t stray far from their vehicles.
