Why western Georgia Street looks this way

Georgia Street from Lost Lagoon to Downtown looks this way now because of a 1982 plan called “Greening Downtown: Design Guidelines for Georgia-Robson Corridor ” – by Baird/Sampson.
Worked great. Doesn’t even have to be green.

  1. It does look lovely all year round but it is not used very much at all, which somehow seems to undermine its purposefulness.

  2. My reaction to the photo was that “looks this way” referred to the fact that nobody’s cleared any snow from the sidewalk – not a positive impression.
