This neighbourhood did not exist a decade ago

The Olympic Village and Environs.  Most of it didn’t exist five years ago.

    1. not saying this isn’t a great development and addition to the city and contributor to real estate supply, just that it’s easy to be misguided into thinking that adding many more of these will make housing affordable. They will help, but they won’t make a significant difference.

  1. Regardless of the effect on housing, myself, my wife, and several thousand other people are now living and loving the area, many of us renting.

    Sure I’d like if it were cheaper, but it’s still a great new addition to the city.

  2. It is a great, vibrant neighbourhood with lots of interesting pubs and restaurants. It is and close to many amenities and many destinations are within walking and cycling distances. Car ownership seems to be lower than average and their are many Modo vehicles (and likely other car share vehicles) available in the area making motor vehicle ownership less necessary.
