  1. The slightly-mysterious courtyard entry and low-key street presence are in keeping with the style of the restaurant itself. They don’t go in for aggressive marketing, but rely on word of mouth and high standards. A neighbourhood treasure in the best urbanist sense.

    I’ve dined at Brix just a few times—easily the finest restaurant I’ve ever visited. The couple who run the place really care about food and about customers. Pretty sure my wine glass was refilled by a ghost—certainly there was no ‘My name is Chad and I’ll be interrupting your conversation eighteen times this evening’.

    Brix is my preferred special-date destination when I’m in funds, which is unfortunately not that often. If you have the money, don’t miss it.
