The False Creek Flats is a major job centre in Vancouver with a critical role in our local and regional economy’s future.
About 8,000 people work at over 600 diverse businesses in the Flats, an area of over 450 acres that’s less than one kilometer to downtown and the port.
Many of our city’s residential neighbourhoods, as well as downtown retail and service industry, rely on many of these businesses for waste management, digital media, clean technology, transportation, food services, and more.
With the Vancouver Economic Commission, we’ll work with you to help the Flats flourish as a more productive, sustainable, and connected area of our city.
This picture shows that there is a lot of room for add’l density in E-Van, both N, S and E of the flats and within the flats.
If you look for real estate investment opportunities, buy in E-Van as they are not making any more single family houses, in fact they will make far less. One reason our prices in Vancouver are so high – and going higher – for SF homes. With the new hospital and Emily Carr university coming to The Flats I see a major urban revival there. Close to SkyTrain, and within biking distance of Yaletown/downtown. With viaducts coming down this area will look very attractive in 20 years (kinda ugly right now)

it’s kind of weird that car dealerships seem to be the fastest growing segment down there.
