Thanks For the Memories

, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, writes in the Huffington Post, as we approach the Paris COP21 talks on climate change.
Her words are a surprisingly broad review of the world of fossil fuels, alternatives (and their costs), financial and legal trends and — yet again — predictions for our future.

I believe that a test of our collective sanity is how we respect the environment on which we ultimately depend. We will look back in 50 years at 2015 as the moment when the world finally got serious about transitioning beyond fossil fuels.

Let’s hope that the COP21 talks do produce “Thanks For the Memories”, and not just “Play it again, Sam”.
Thanks to Colin Brander for the tip.
