Today (Chinese artist and activist) Ai Weiwei received his passport!
I thought you’d be interested to learn (I didn’t know) that he put a bouquet of fresh flowers in the basket of his bicycle was chained to a post outside his studio every day until his passport was returned.
Ai Wei Wei is one of the most interesting artists of our times, and has been able to set up exhibitions remotely while under arrest. HIs work is thoughtful and evoking on many levels, with his public work always grounded on the importance of street detail and presence, asking us to think more thoughtfully about that around us.
