Worth bringing forward, from Andrew Godon:
.
Back in Victoria, here are some other things we are up to over here, thanks to our terrific mayor and council and some organizations like the Greater Victoria Placemaking Network, Downtown Victoria Business Assn, Cycling Coalition, etc:
.
The first ‘Pop-up’ Bike Lane demonstration in the City of Victoria happens on Tuesday, from noon to 7 pm, on the 600 block of Pandora Ave. Details here. Greater Victoria Placemaking Network members will be out, assisting with the activity and doing a little research.
We hope to introduce longer (both in terms of street distance and duration) Complete Streets pilots over the next year. The Pop-Up Bike Lane on Pandora is a great first step and we will be collaborating with the City of Victoria (and hopefully other CRD municipalities) to do more of these. We have a working group that is designing a Complete Streets Pilot Kit which would allow municipalities and neighbourhoods to quickly pilot innovative street configurations.

Love that document on Douglas. Well done Victoria. For one a city that has a long range plan and vision for something building public realm as opposed to a collection of one off Origami towers by Starchitects marketed to the Chinese.
