A ban on food and green waste – organics – in the garbage has been in effect since January 1, 2015 in the Metro Vancouver region. To support businesses, institutions and others as they explore how to separate food waste from regular garbage, Metro Vancouver has identified a range of options for storage, hauling, and on-site processing.

Join us to learn about these options, and hear two case studies about on-site food waste processing technologies currently in use.

Welcoming Remarks
  • Malcolm Brodie, Board Director, Metro Vancouver
Speakers
  • Karen Storry, Project Engineer, Solid Waste, Metro Vancouver
  • Louise Schwarz, Co-founder, Recycling Alternative
  • Chiyi Tam, Sustainability Coordinator, AMS – UBC Vancouver’s Student Society
