People just keep on crossing the Burrard Bridge on their bikes. Whatever will the doomsayers do if this keeps up?

Out of curiosity, does anyone know how this compares with the number of cars over the bridge each day and since the counter was installed?
The city keeps track of all data from their in the road counters and you can get it here.
http://data.vancouver.ca/datacatalogue/trafficCounts.htm
Around 28,000/day in each direction.
That is a big number .. imagine they charged $10 during rush hour (say 6 am to 10 am) and $5 outside of rush hour on the in-bound lanes of each major route into downtown Vancouver .. huge $s that could be used for transit AND would reduce the # of cars actually .. unlike the current weak bus plan (also unfortunately referred to as a decongestion plan) !
Yes, think of how incredibly crowded the buses would be. Maybe they should just deny people like you to right to use the bridges sometimes just so you don’t think being able to afford it precludes you from having to take one of these packed buses. We’re all equal after all. Lol.
Sure – lets also charge you say $25 any time you see a doctor. Emergency should be more – say $100. That would probably take care of our healthcare system congestion. Park use $2…Library $2…You have a kid in school? Say $5 a day…But wait…suburbs also have roads that are used by people in Vancouver to get their food…Say Barnaby charges every truck passing through, I don’t know $50…Then Coquitlam, Then Surrey…Then all the way to California. Say what? Your coffee is now $25 a pop? But, think about how much less people would consume and drive around? Its a win-win…
